Dr. Wu, Fan is an Assistant Professor at Wuhan University, Wuhan, China. His research interests include Search Based Software Engineering, Genetic Improvement, Mutation Testing, Machine Learning, and Evolutionary Algorithms.

Fan received his PhD award at University College London in 2017, supervised by Prof. Mark Harman, Dr. Jens Krinke, and Dr. Yue Jia. His PhD thesis focuses on Genetic Improvement of software using Search Based Software Engineering and Mutation Testing approaches. Fan received his Bachelor degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University in 2011, after which, he worked as a Research Assistant in State Key Laboratory of Intelligent Technology and Systems, Tsinghua University.

Fan also worked as Data Analyst and System Architect at BNP Paribas(London) from 2016 to 2017.
